St. Mary's Foundation, in conjunction with the family of
Sue Conner Vauthier, has established a nursing scholarship
to honor her memory. Sue was a dedicated and valued nurse
who was passionate about serving the patients entrusted to
her care. Sue served and cared for patients in St. Mary's
ministry from 1978 to 1996, serving at St. Mary's Warrick
and at St. Mary's Medical Center on 6 West and the Patient
Care Division, Float/IV Therapy, before going to Gastroenterology
Associates in Evansville. While the St. Mary's community mourned
the loss of Sue in the spring of 2004, the memory of her smile
and Christian witness is still very much a part of our lives.
This fund has been established to create a legacy of service
to St. Mary's.
The Sue Conner Vauthier fund is established to assist nursing
students with their continuing education and advanced degrees.
A committee representing the hospital and the family of Sue
Conner Vauthier will direct the distributions from this fund.
Scholarships will be provided on an annual basis to students
who need financial assistance with their nursing education,
and they will be named at the annual St. Mary's Nursing Banquet.
General Criteria for receiving the scholarship will include:
